Desperation Sale!

Hello, friendly artist here. So… it’s been an exceptionally expensive year so far. Our tax return was much smaller than expected, my front tooth cracked and needed a crown (which reminds me: I need to appeal the insurance’s denial of coverage), and then our one and only car died a premature death (at 198,500 miles, to boot) (it was a Honda Civic, so we really expected it to last at least another year, but more like five) just after we sank $1400 into new struts. Like, a week later. Insult to injury, ya know?

So, yes. we are in rather desperate need of funds, so I am having a sale: 40% off everything that is in stock. Every dollar makes a difference. (Speaking of, if you don’t have any wall space but still want to support me, I have a patreon page.)

The sale starts on Saturday April 13th and runs through the rest of the month. It’s 40% off everything that is in stock both here and on my Etsy page. Domestic shipping is included in all prices. If you can pick up, I will give you $10 cash back on top of that.

Birthday Month Sale!

My birthday is June 14th, so I’m taking the month of June and giving you all a SALE! A BIG sale!

All my paintings will be at least 40% off. Some of my older works will be reduced by even more.

Because prints and photos are done out-of-house, I can’t offer such a big discount on them, but I will be offering a discount code for 10% off!

In less fun news, I do have to make it known that unless I know you, I cannot accept any checks: personal or cashier. Scammers have been hitting up artists lately (yes, I was one) using interest in the work to get information, and a possible cash payout. If that’s the only way you can pay, talk with me. We’ll figure something out.

BIG SALE! Use coupon code OCT2019 for 50% OFF

It’s that time of the year again! Yep! I’m BROKE!

Which means it’s SALE time!

I am in the process of adding more old work to this site, but all works older than a year are 50% off. (EVERYTHING on etsy is 50% off (because it’s all older than a year). https://www.etsy.com/shop/ECsArts)

Giclee’s and fine art prints are excluded, because they are printed as requested, and the minis are all newer than a year, so they’re out, but otherwise, let yourself indulge! Because of my tech un-savviness, I am also excluding all photos from this site until I can figure out how to include the acid-free prints from the more expensive options. That said, if a particular photo piques your interest, please send me a note and I’ll happily make arrangements to include that image in the sale.

Also, if I can figure out how to do it, there’s FREE SHIPPING* on works smaller than 16″x20″.

So, give me 24 hours to update this site with the free shipping (the etsy sale and free shipping is live!), and then – please!!! – shop away! (I’ll post again when it’s done.) [ETA Oct 9th @9am: Um… yeah. My energy has really crashed, so it might take a bit longer. At least I have figured out what to do to make it go, though. I think.]

(Alternatively, if you don’t have room for more art and your friends are tired of art as gifts, you could become a patron! https://www.patreon.com/ecsarts)

Thank you, and happy shopping!

(In case you missed it, the sale is live. Use the coupon code OCT2019 in the cart to get 50% off everything!)

Sale ends November 10th.

*Free domestic shipping, only. Sorry international friends, but covering shipping to you would eat up all my revenues.

Time to Take a Stand!

So, I am pro-democracy. I’ll state that right up front. You’d think most people in the Western World would be pro-democracy, but given the rise of Trump and the neo-Nazis in the US (and other fascist factions elsewhere in the developed and developing world), it’s not necessarily a given any more.

Given the state of American and world affairs, I realize we all need to take a stand.

We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.
– Elie Wiesel.

So this is my stand.

This week my technical task is to make it so that 10% of every purchase goes to support Amy McGrath in her campaign against Mitch McConnell. McConnell has proven himself to be anti-democracy in just about every way. If our country is to recover from this turbulent period, he must be ousted from power. Amy McGrath is our best chance of ousting him.

I feel so strongly about this that if you send me proof that you have already donated to McGrath’s campaign, I will also give you up to $50 free shipping. That’s basically free shipping on any piece up to (and including) 16″x20″ paintings!

At this point in my life, I don’t have a lot of money to give, but I desperately want a better world for my son. This is how I can manage to give.

(After the primaries, I will expand the free shipping offer to the Democratic presidential nominee, as well as a variety of other crucial Senate (and in some cases, Representative) races where the Republican running has shown a distinct favor for white supremacy, nationalism (as opposed to patriotism), fascism, or other traits that are contrary to the ideals of America.)

So this is where I stand. I hope that you stand with me.

New site, new webmaster, new challenges

Hi there!

You might have noticed that this site has changed a bit since last time you visited. Well, I was unsatisfied with my former host (so slooooooow), so I’ve switched hosts and hired my son to remake my page from scratch.

While this means there will be regular updates (part of his job description), it also means there will be bumps along the way as this is his first time designing and maintaining a site (and since I’m pretty much a novice myself, it’s a big ol’ learning experience all ’round).

So, well, I hope you will have patience with us as we learn. New stuff (including pages) will be added weekly for a while. My goal is to have at least a blog piece ready for my son to upload every time he sits down.

Here’s to learning, art, and expression. May you have a fabulous week!
